• Made from half of a genuine antique sterling silver pair of sugar nips/tongs
→ Hallmarked William Devenport, Birmingham, 1913. More than 110 years old and definitely not ready for retirement.

• That gorgeous little nip 
→ Instead of cutting it away, I kept it and used it as the top of the ring. The original detail is just too good to lose.

• Original twisted handle
→ The old handle wraps around the finger and crosses over the nip, giving it that fabulous saddle ring shape.

• Sterling silver with over a century behind it
→ It already had a whole life before it landed on my workbench. Where it's been for the last 113 years absolutely no idea. But I'd love to know.

→ A good sized statement ring without being ridiculously chunky.

• Completely one of a kind
→ There was only one half of these nips used for this ring, and there'll only ever be this one.

This one started life in 1913 as sterling silver sugar nips.

So, I used half of the original nips, kept that gorgeous little end exactly where it deserved to be, and formed the twisted handle around so it sweeps across the top like a saddle ring.

From the sugar bowl in 1913 to someone's finger in 2026.

Old silverware. New chapter.
