I can't help thinking about Christmas puddings, family gatherings and those old traditions that seem to have slowly disappeared over the years.

Once upon a time, finding a coin tucked inside your Christmas pudding was a pretty exciting little moment. Although you'd certainly want to watch your teeth!

I wonder whose hands it passed through, how many pockets and purses it travelled in, or whether it ever ended up hidden inside a Christmas pudding.

We'll never know, of course.

But that's the thing I love about old coins. They carry a little piece of everyday history, even if we don't know their whole story.
