→ I've set the coin into a large Zamak alloy surround with an organic curved shape and beautiful raised detailing. It's completely different from a traditional coin setting.

→ Even with such a detailed surround, you can immediately see the 1960 shilling and what this necklace started with. I never want to lose that connection to the original piece.

• 75cm stainless steel Rolo chain
→ A longer Rolo chain balances the larger necklace and gives all that detail room to be seen.

This one is completely different, and that's exactly why I love making pieces like it.

I've set it into this large, beautifully detailed surround rather than a traditional round bezel. The shape almost wraps around the old coin, but the shilling and that wonderful merino ram is still right there for everyone to see.

Something that was once passed from hand to hand as everyday money is now a piece of Australian history that can be worn and kept for the future.
