1964. The end of an era for the Australian threepence!
This genuine 1964 Australian threepence was minted in the final year of production, just before Australia said goodbye to pounds, shillings and pence.
More than 60 years later, I've given it a new future.
I've placed the old coin into an antique-toned bezel, then surrounded it with a beautiful Zamak alloy setting covered in flowers. Finished with a 65cm stainless steel snake chain, it's a lovely mix of history and vintage character.
Who would have thought an old threepence could look this pretty?

🤎The Molly Made Story
I love that this threepence was made in the very last year of its production.
Back then, nobody would have given much thought to spending one. It was simply everyday money.
Now, decades later, it's surrounded by flowers and ready to be worn rather than spent.
I think that's a pretty lovely second chapter for something that might otherwise have been forgotten.
Not Mass Made. Made to Matter.
