→ Yes, this really did start life as cutlery. Although with detail like this, it was never going to stay a spoon forever.

→ Flowers, scrolls and all those little open spaces make this one seriously pretty without being too fussy.

• The spoon handle became the bail too
→ Rather than adding a separate bail, I've formed part of the original handle over, so the chain runs straight through it. 

• 65cm stainless steel chain
→ A great longer length that lets the old silverware be the star of the show.

• One of a kind
→ Old silverware like this doesn't come with an endless supply button. Once this one finds its person, that's it.

Look at the detail in this one.

Flowers, scrolls, open sections there was absolutely no way I was going to mess around with all that beautiful old work. So, I kept it simple.

I removed the spoon bowl and formed the top of the handle back on itself to create the bail. The chain slides straight through, leaving that gorgeous old handle pretty much exactly as I found it.
